1. Choosing Your Destination

If you’re anything like me, your Instagram feed is filled with pictures of your friends’ vacations. Every time you scroll through, you see them posing in front of beautiful landmarks or enjoying delicious-looking meals at trendy restaurants. And every time, you can’t help but feel just a little bit jealous. But don’t worry — Serene Traveler is here to help. With just a little bit of planning, you can have an Instagram-worthy vacation of your own. Here’s how:

1. Pick a Picture-Perfect Destination

The first step to having an Instagram-worthy vacation is to pick a picture-perfect destination. When it comes to travel, looks matter—so it’s important to choose a place that will photograph well. Some of my personal favorites include Paris, New York City, and Rome. But no matter where you decide to go, make sure it’s a place that you’ll be able to get some great photos.

2. Stay in a Stylish Hotel

When it comes to getting good photos, where you stay matters just as much as where you go. That’s why it’s important to choose a hotel that has style and personality. Not only will this make your photos look great, but it’ll also add an element of luxury to your vacation. Some of my favorite hotels are the Mandarin Oriental in New York City and the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris. But no matter where you’re staying, make sure your hotel is up to par—after all, you don’t want your photos ruined by an ugly room in the background!

3. Eat at the Hottest Restaurants

If there’s one thing that can really make or break a vacation photo, it’s the food. After all, who wants to post a picture of themselves eating at a dive restaurant? That’s why it’s important to do your research and find out which restaurants are hot right now. Eating at the latest and greatest restaurants will not only make your photos look great, but it’ll also give you something to brag about when you get home!

4. Get Out and Explore

Of course, no matter where you go or what you do, the best way to get great photos is simply to get out and explore! Take some time to wander around and find the best spots for taking pictures—you never know what hidden gems you might find. And don’t forget to take some pictures of yourself! After all, what’s the point of having an Instagram-worthy vacation if you’re not in any of the photos?

With just a little bit of planning, you can have an Instagram-worthy vacation of your own — one that will make all your friends jealous! Just remember to pick a picture-perfect destination, stay in a stylish hotel, eat at the hottest restaurants, and get out and explore! With these tips in mind, you’re sure to have a vacation that’s #goals worthy!

If you’re thinking about taking a trip by yourself, congratulations! You’re about to embark on a journey of self-discovery (or, at the very least, you’re going to get some really great Instagram photos). But where should you go? Here are 10 of the best — and safest — destinations for solo travelers.

1. Reykjavik, Iceland

This small city is big on personality, and you’ll never find yourself bored or alone here. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to keep you entertained, and the locals are always up for a chat. Just be sure to stay away from the Icelandic National Museum after dark — it’s said to be haunted!

2. Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen is one of the most welcoming cities in Europe, and it’s perfect for solo travelers. The food is amazing (try the famous Danish pastries!), the people are friendly, and there’s plenty to see and do. But be careful not to get lost in Tivoli Gardens — the world’s oldest amusement park.

3. Edinburgh, Scotland

If you’re looking for a city with a bit of history, look no further than Edinburgh. This Scottish city is full of castles, museums, and beautiful architecture. And if you get tired of walking around by yourself, you can always join one of the many ghost tours! Just be warned that some of the locals may be a bit…gruff.

4. Sienna, Italy

Sienna is a small town located in Tuscany, and it’s the perfect place to enjoy some wine and Italian food. The town is also home to numerous art galleries, so there’s plenty to keep you occupied if you’re traveling solo. Just be careful not to get too close to the edge of any of the bridges — they’re known to collapse!

5. Havana, Cuba

Havana is a city that’s steeped in history, and it’s one of the best places to go if you want to experience true Cuban culture. There are plenty of museums and art galleries to explore, and the locals are always happy to help visitors experience everything that Havana has to offer. Just be careful not to take any pictures of government buildings — you could get into trouble!

6. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio is one of the most vibrant cities in South America, and it’s perfect for solo travelers who want to party all night long. The city is full of nightclubs and bars, and there’s always something going on. We dare you to try and not drink too many caipirinhas — the national cocktail! It’s delicious but potent!

7. Cusco, Peru

Cusco is a small city located in the Peruvian Andes, and it’s one of the best places to go if you want to experience Inca culture. The city is full of Inca ruins as well as museums and art galleries dedicated to Inca culture. Just be careful not to hike too close to Machu Picchu — the famous Inca ruins! They’re said to be cursed!

8. San Juan, Puerto Rico

San Juan is a lively city located on the island of Puerto Rico, and it’s perfect for solo travelers who want to experience Caribbean culture. The city is full of bars and nightclubs as well as museums and historical sites. Just be sure not to drink too much rum! It will go straight to your head!
